Sports Massage

Techniques are used to target problem areas, promote recovery, and improve range of movement. This is not only for sports enthusiasts but anybody suffering from muscular-skeletal issues. A postural assessment is carried out to determine the best course of treatment. Recommended for people experiencing acute or chronic pain.

Myofascial Cupping

Myofascial cupping to upper arm

Rather than focusing on the meridian energy system used in traditional Chinese medicine, myofascial cupping targets the muscular-skeletal system. Plastic cups and a hand held vacuum pump are used to create suction. The cups lift the tissue, bringing blood flow and oxygen to the area.

Some benefits include;
- Improves nutrient-rich blood flow
-  Improves fluid movement which aids recovery and reduces oedema

- Improves range of movement by stretching myofascial tissue (connective tissue)
- Breaks up and clears congestion

Cupping can be incorporated into Sports and Deep Tissue massages with Zoe

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage

A firm pressure is used to ease muscular tension and release connective tissue. It can help with aches, pains and reducing stress. Stretches can be incorporated to free up space within the body and improve range of movement.

Traditional Thai Massage

Traditional Thai Massage

A deeper massage than Swedish, utilizing deeper acupressure, assisted stretching and compression to aid in alleviating physical tensions and improving articulation of joints and general bodily movement. Often a therapist will use forearms, knuckles, elbows, feet and knees to acquire a deeper tissue release.*

Thai Warrior Yoga Massage

Thai Yoga Massage

Fully clothed. Similar in technique to Traditional Thai Massage, but using a more rhythmic, symbiotic dance-like routine with assisted stretching and twisting between client and therapist.

It involves the use of acupressure and rhythmic massage and opening of energy pathways (Sen lines of the body). This is designed to free up fascia & muscular tension, to aid in joint mobilisation and deepen flexibility. Typically floor-based in
tradition.*

Implements Thai massage, reflexology and acupressure techniques to promote overall
well-being and relaxation.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy

Ancient practices found the use of plants, herbs, spices and essential oils to enhance the benefits of massage and medicine.

Essential oils have a plethora of properties, ranging for example, from stress-relief, tackling inflammatory conditions, depressive illness and other emotional imbalances, digestive issues, sleep issues ... the list is broad-ranging!

Aromatherapists have extensive knowledge to bring together blends of these oils, according to properties matched to individual requirements.

Essential oils penetrate not only the respiratory system, but the layers of the dermis (skin) and enter the bloodstream, further enhancing the overall experience.

Please note: a complete consultation is required to ensure safe application and measuring of these potent beauties!

Indian Head Massage

Indian Head Massage

Adopted from traditional Indian practices, Indian Head Massage is generally performed fully clothed and upright on a chair. However, Western practices have seen adaptations to incorporate oil-on-skin with the client lying on a couch.

Techniques are applied to the scapulae, thoracic and cervical spine, upper arms, shoulders, neck, scalp and face. This promotes lymphatic drainage, improves circulation, rejuvenates skin health, reduces stress and promotes sleep.

Indian Head massage can alleviate symptoms associated with the upper body and head, such as headaches, anxiety and regional tension.

Pregnancy Massage

Pregnancy Massage

Swedish massage adapted to bring comfort and relaxation for pregnant clients. Generally, legs, back, neck, shoulders and arms are massaged, but can be tailored to individual requirement. The use of mild concentrations of essential oils can also enhance experience, depending on client need.

Reiki

Reiki Healing

Reiki is based on the principle that there is a universal life-force energy (Chi), which can be transferred from practitioner to client through the hands. Clients are fully clothed whilst the practitioner places or hovers hands above the body, promoting peace and deep relaxation.

Many clients reach a meditative state, thus enhancing the overall healing experience. Rainbow often receives insights and readings through this practice that may further client healing.

Hands Massaging

Back, Neck and Shoulder Treatment

This primarily focuses on common issues with the back, neck and shoulder areas. Oftentimes, it is beneficial to incorporate Swedish techniques, with trigger points, deep tissue and/or Thai massage to release soft-tissue, fascia and muscular stress.

Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage

The most common superficial massage designed to relieve muscular and soft tissue tension, improve skin tone and general circulation. Techniques are used to encourage clients to achieve a deep sense of relaxation and rejuvenation.

Reflexology

Reflexology

When thumb, hand or finger pressure is applied to certain regions on the foot, hand or ear, a corresponding organ and systems of the body are stimulated. This aims to promote the body’s natural healing processes, aid in relaxation and alleviate pain. It is thought to assist with a multitude of conditions including migraines, anxiety, digestive issues and insomnia.

*Please Note;

Deep tissue massage and Thai techniques can result in mild bruising, which is
perfectly normal. You will be asked about medications and health conditions during
consultation so treatments can be adjusted accordingly. It is important to communicate
any discomfort regards to level of pressure applied during treatment. The therapist can
adjust pressure according to client’s level of comfort.
Please speak with your therapist should you require advice on best guidance for
recovery.
